SEC sports information directors vote on the SEC’s best defensive players

The SEC’s sports information directors were recently polled by AL.com and asked to share their thoughts on the league’s best defensive players heading into the 2018 season.

The SIDs were not permitted to vote for players from their own institution.

Here’s what they came up with for the First-Team All-SEC preseason defense, which was recently posted by AL.com:

First-Team Defense

DL – Raekwon Davis, Alabama

DL – Montez Sweat, Mississippi State

DL – Cece Jefferson, Florida

DL – Kingsley Keke, Texas A&M

LB – Devin White, LSU

LB –  Tyrel Dodson, Texas A&M

LB – Josh Allen, Kentucky

CB – Andraez “Greedy” Williams, LSU

CB – Deandre Baker, Georgia

S – Mike Edwards, Kentucky

S – Chauncey Gardner-Johnson, Florida

K – Rodrigo Blankenship, Georgia
