There’s always plenty of talent every year in the college football transfer portal. Now, one of the country’s best offensive lineman has apparently entered his name and is a player that should be in high demand.
According to Rivals.com, offensive tackle Obinna Eze is in the transfer portal after a successful 4-year spell with Memphis. The Nashville product was a redshirt in 2017 and played 6 games at left tackle in 2018, before cementing his role as the team’s starter at that position in 2019 and 2020.
Immediately becomes one of the best available players in the portal at any position.
Probably would have gotten drafted had he decided to enter. https://t.co/r4IrGe304o

It will be interesting to see where Eze ends up in 2021. While entering the NFL Draft was certainly a possibility for him, by submitting his name to the portal, it is apparent that he feels he has a little more to prove at the collegiate level. Could he find himself on an SEC team when it is all said and done? There are several teams in the conference that could benefit from experience up front, so it’s worth keeping an eye on Eze’s next steps.
As a recruit in the class of 2017, he picked up offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Mississippi State, Missouri, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Vanderbilt. Obviously, at many of those schools’ coaching staffs have undergone significant changes since the 2017 recruiting cycle.
