Social media is on fire about the SEC dominating Week 1 (except Tennessee)

The SEC finished Week 1 13-1 against non-conference opponents. Yes, Tennessee was the lone (blowout) loss to West Virginia.
Prior to the season starting, however, there was so much talk about the Big Ten East being the best division in college football. Then, Week 1 happened, and football was actually played.
Michigan State nearly lost to Utah State 38-31. Penn State barely escaped Appalachian State in OT 45-38, and Michigan lost to a good Notre Dame team 24-17. Ohio State did dominate Oregon State 77-31, and yes, Maryland upset a ranked Texas. Still, the three of the big four looked pedestrian and underachieving.
The SEC, on the other hand, owned Week 1, specifically the West finished 7-0. Alabama destroyed Louisville 51-14. Auburn beat a very good Washington team 21-16. Ole Miss hammered Texas Tech 47-27. LSU thumped Miami 33-17. With the emergence of solid QB Joe Burrow, the SEC West changes a little bit, too. Don’t forget about ranked Mississippi State, too.
Following LSU’s win against Miami, social media was sounding off on the SEC re-establishing itself as college football’s premier conference, and the SEC West its premier division.
