Arkansas head coach Sam Pittman and defensive coordinator Barry Odom ended up at No. 2 on this week’s list after the Razorbacks snapped a 20-game SEC losing streak with a 21-14 win over Mississippi State. It was Pittman’s first win as a head coach, and it was thanks in part to an Arkansas defense that forced 4 takeaways on the afternoon. The Bulldogs were held to just 87 yards on 24 carries.
Georgia offensive coordinator Todd Monken came in at No. 3 on the list. After a slow start against Arkansas in the season opener, the former Southern Miss head coach oversaw a complete offensive performance by the Dawgs as they rolled up 442 yards against Auburn in a 27-6 win. They ran for 202 yards on 45 carries while Kearis Jackson had a career night, making 9 catches for 147 yards.
Finally, Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin clocked in at No. 5 as he won his first game since his return to the conference. The Rebels won a wild one in Lexington, outlasting Kentucky 42-41 in overtime despite allowing 408 yards on the ground. Matt Corral threw for 4 touchdowns in this one, including 2 to Jonathan Mingo.
