With tons of SEC action every Saturday, there are always going to be plenty of highlight reel plays. Week 11 featured several dramatic finishes and some impressive offensive performances. Of course, there are also those plays that are better off forgotten. Here at Saturday Down South, we don’t forget. Let’s run down the worst of the week that was.
5. Kentucky’s special teams play
The Wildcats have more or less earned themselves a permanent spot here with their special teams gaffes. This week included Georgia taking back two kicks for touchdowns, a near-turnover and two Kentucky players smacking into each other.
4. Leon Orr’s dismissal

The Florida defensive tackle left the team on Saturday after being told he wouldn’t be starting against Vanderbilt. Will Muschamp said after the game that he told Orr if he left, he would be off the team. That didn’t stop the fifth-year senior from hopping on a bus back to Gainesville. To make matters worse, Orr decided to do some tweeting from his long ride home.
3. Logan Stokes pulls a middle school prank
Remember how mad kids would get when they’d get their pants yanked down by their buddies on the playground? Imagine how peeved Alabama linebacker Reggie Ragland was when LSU tight end Logan Stokes pulled the same stunt on national television.
2. Trent Domingue’s out-of-bounds kickoff
LSU had a chance to bury Alabama deep in its own territory after taking a 13-10 lead with less than a minute to go. Instead, kicker Trent Domingue bounced a kickoff out of bounds, gifting Alabama great field position. While a squib would have been great to pin the Crimson Tide, Domingue’s gaffe is made worse by Les Miles telling reporters after the game that the ball was supposed to be booted as deep as possible, which explains his reaction after the play. After this mistake, Alabama drove for a field goal to tie it and then won the game on their first possession of overtime.
1. Auburn’s bad snap to lose the game
Mark Sanchez has some company in the butt fumble department. Auburn had one final chance to win against Texas A&M on Saturday. While quarterback Nick Marshall was calling out some adjustments at the line, center Reese Dismukes went ahead and snapped the ball without Marshall standing behind him. The ball hit Dismukes right in the tush and fell to the ground, with the Aggies falling on the loose ball for their second fumble recovery of the fourth quarter, this one sealing the 41-38 result.
