SEC’s Week 12 early kickoffs draw very disappointing crowds

It’s a lighter-than-usual SEC slate in Week 12 with 6 teams hosting out-of-conference opponents. Three of those games were scheduled for 11 a.m. CT kickoffs. Unsurprisingly, there are many empty seats.
Reporters at Texas A&M, Alabama and Mississippi State all noted small crowds around or ahead of kickoff.

Crowd for UMass at Texas A&M (understandable for a variety of reasons — the aforementioned UMass, 11 am kick, 6 game losing streak and cold and raining): pic.twitter.com/szCcg7EjI3

This is one of the smallest crowds I’ve ever seen at this stadium but MSU is wearing State script on the helmets and grey britches so it’s a good day. pic.twitter.com/Jx4SCEvDpW

In Week 12, there isn’t a lot of excitement surrounding Texas A&M-UMass, Alabama-Austin Peay and Mississippi State-ETSU. All 3 games are being shown only on streaming platforms SEC Network+ and ESPN+, which presumably helps with attendance.
Nick Saban will likely have something to say about empty seats in Bryant-Denny Stadium.
