NFL teams have their pick of edge rushers in this year’s draft class. Former Georgia DE/OLB D’Andre Walker hopes to stand out among the pack.

Walker has managed to impress one prominent analyst in the leadup to the upcoming NFL Draft. Senior Bowl exectuive director Jim Nagy, who will also serve as a draft analyst on ESPN, recently descirbed Walker as a potential steal.

“In a deep EDGE class, one off-the-radar player with Day 2 talent is (Georgia) DE/OLB D’Andre Walker,” Nagy tweeted Friday. “He was one of earliest (Senior Bowl) invites but hernia surgery knocked him out of the game. (Walker) could be a steal for some team.”

Walker obviously has four seasons of game film for teams to evaluate, but the January-April period leading up to the draft factors heavily in where a prospect will ultimately be drafted. The timing of the hernia surgery was obviously less than ideal for Walker, but if Nagy is impressed, scouts and coaches have also likely made similar observations.
