Tennessee’s offensive line held its own and then some Saturday against Alabama.
The make of a good offensive lineman is never hearing his name. Darnell Wright, Tennessee’s right tackle, has been a ghost this season on that front.
Wright has been quietly excellent for the Vols this year. The former 5-star prospect has been a mainstay on a Vols line that has been through its ups and downs the past few years.
Jim Nagy, executive director of the Reese’s Senior Bowl, said that Wright was one of the most improved prospects he’s seen this year.
.@Vol_Football QB Hendon Hooker deserves all praise he gets but RT Darnell Wright is one of most improved prospects we’ve seen on tape this year. Moved from LT in offseason and looks more natural on right side. Wright made money controlling Alabama’s Will Anderson on Saturday. pic.twitter.com/hEyy4GkO2S

Wright was the No. 10 prospect in the Class of 2019. The 6-foot-6, 335 pound lineman was the No. 1 prospect out of the state of West Virginia and one of few from a talented 2019 class to stick around when Jeremy Pruitt was fired in 2020.
