The SEC is known for its defensive prowess, so it’s never a surprise when defensive players from the conference win awards or are named to watch lists.
On Tuesday, Pro Football Focus released a “Top 25 Breakout Players for 2016” list, and seven SEC players were named. Six of those seven players are on the defensive side of the ball.
The seven players to watch in 2016 are:
- Deatrich Wise Jr., DE, Arkansas (No. 1)
- Ryan Anderson, OLB, Alabama (No. 2)
- Terry Beckner Jr., DT, Missouri (No. 9)
- Daylon Mack, DT, Texas A&M (No. 12)
- Alvin Kamara, RB, Tennessee (No. 15)
- Devaroe Lawrence, DE, Auburn (No. 18)
- Darius English, DE, South Carolina (No. 23)
With all those pass rushers set to break out, it won’t be fun to be a quarterback in the SEC in 2016.
