Several SEC programs are among the 10 schools that 4-star interior offensive lineman Jackson Roper has narrowed his search down to.
The Class of 2027 phenom told On3’s Hayes Fawcett on Thursday afternoon that he’s down to those 10 programs, with 3 SEC schools still in the running for the 6-foot-5, 305-pounder from Colorado. Alabama and Georgia are still fighting for the top-15 offensive lineman, along with SEC rival Texas A&M.
Roper also has a slew of Big Ten programs among his final 10, including Oregon, Ohio State, Michigan, Nebraska and USC. The other 2 schools still in the running for Roper are Miami, which almost won the national title last season, and Texas Tech, which was also a Playoff team in 2025.
According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Roper is rated as the No. 249 player in the Class of 2027. He’s currently the 13th-ranked interior offensive lineman in the class and the top-rated player from the state of Colorado, according to those Composite rankings.
Roper is currently a star at Cherry Creek High School in Englewood, but he doesn’t have Colorado or Colorado State among those final 10 programs still in the mix for him. Instead, Roper has mostly focused his search on the SEC and Big Ten as his recruitment process heats up in advance of his arrival somewhere in college football in 2027.
