Several SEC programs listed among 5 favorites for standout 2027 IOL prospect
Before you can blink, football season will be just around the corner. You can focus on the wonder that is March Madness for the remainder of the month, but your favorite team’s collegiate staff is on the prowl for talent.
According to On3’s Hayes Fawcett, 4 SEC teams are in the running to land 2027 interior offensive lineman Terrance Smith. The Philadelphia native recently included LSU, Florida, Auburn and Tennessee in his top 5 schools.
Smith, a 4-star prospect who stands 6-foot-6, is the No. 266 overall player in 247 Sports’ Composite rankings. He is the No. 14 interior offensive lineman and the No. 9 player from Pennsylvania. The lone team not from the SEC in his top 5 schools is Rutgers, which is located roughly 80 miles from his hometown.
LSU, Florida and Auburn all brought in new head coaches this offseason. Lane Kiffin, Jon Sumrall and Alex Golesh all want to implement a culture and foundation for success as soon as possible. Smith’s massive presence on their offensive line would presumably have a positive impact on those aspirations. Meanwhile, Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel, entering year 6, is focused on reloading an offense that will be without quarterback Joey Aguilar.
