Shane Beamer and the South Carolina Gamecocks picked up a huge win last Saturday, knocking off then-No. 10 Texas A&M by a score of 44-20.

The game was tied at 20 at halftime, but the Gamecocks erupted in the 2nd half to run away with the win.

Getting the win at home earned some recognition for Beamer, as he was named The Dodd Trophy Coach of the Week.

It was a balanced offensive attack for South Carolina, as LaNorris Sellers threw for 244 yards and 2 touchdowns. Running back Raheim Sanders also dominated the game on the ground, as he rushed for 144 yards and 2 touchdowns. Demetrius Knight Jr. led the team with 11 tackles as helped fuel a South Carolina defense that held the Aggies scoreless in the second half.

With the win, the Gamecocks are now 5-3 on the season, and this team is very close to being 7-1. They controlled the majority of the games against LSU and Alabama, but ended up losing both of those contests by a combined 5 points.

South Carolina has a chance to become bowl-eligible next week as it travels to Nashville to take on the No. 24 Vanderbilt Commodores.

Kickoff is scheduled for 4:15 p.m. ET and the game will be on the SEC Network.
