Shane Beamer lauded after South Carolina beat UNC in Duke’s Mayo Bowl

Shane Beamer and South Carolina finished the 2021 season 7-6, thanks to a 38-21 Mayo Bowl victory over UNC. Remember, Vegas had the Gamecocks’ over/under around 4 wins before the start of 2021.

Beamer and company blew those expectations away, and it wasn’t a freak thing either. Beamer is building something impressive in Columbia, and he’s breathed life back into an exhausted program that suffered through the Will Muschamp era.

Thanks to a 7-win season and a good recruiting class, which includes landing quarterback Spencer Rattler in the NCAA Transfer Portal, the Gamecocks have some great momentum heading into the 2022 season.

Following the win over the Tar Heels, Beamer was lauded on social media for his job at South Carolina in Year 1.

Quite a finish for South Carolina and Shane Beamer in his debut season, whipping UNC to finish 7-6, and blew out UF and beat Auburn. And landed Spencer Rattler. Couldn't ask for much more than that if you're a Gamecocks fan.
