South Carolina will look to put a humiliating loss to No. 1 Georgia behind it when it faces Charlotte on Saturday at Williams-Brice Stadium.

One key player that has been ruled out of the contest is cornerback Darius Rush. The 6th-year senior suffered a hamstring injury against Georgia and will not play against the 49ers, along with David Spaulding, Shane Beamer said on his weekly radio show on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the status of a host of other Gamecocks is up in the air, including Cam Smith, Alex Huntley, Corey Rucker, Devonni Reed, Stone Blanton, and R.J. Roderick. Beamer, during his radio show (per the Charleston Post and Courier’s David Cloninger), said that he is hopeful that they’ll be ready to go.

This is the first meeting between Charlotte and South Carolina. Kickoff from Columbia is set for 7:30 p.m. ET and will be televised on the SEC Network.
