Shane Beamer shares heartfelt message to South Carolina fans ahead of head coaching debut

Ahead of South Carolina’s opening game against Eastern Illinois, first-year head coach Shane Beamer posted a heartfelt message to Gamecock fans.
Beamer asked Gamecock fans to make their presence known Saturday night.
“Gamecock Nation we need you,” Beamer says. “I know you are going to bring it during the game, but we need you before the game as well.”
“This is the best home-field environment in all of college football because of you.”

Beamer explained that the school will be hosting several recruits over the weekend and needed the Carolina crowd to show out.
This is Beamer’s first head coaching job and before that, he was an assistant at Oklahoma, Georgia, and for several years at South Carolina.
The son of former Virginia Tech coach Frank Beamer, Shane was an assistant under his father as well.
Beamer ended his message by saying, “We’re building something special here at Carolina, but we need you.”
