Shane Beamer says he’s waiting to name a starting quarterback for South Carolina’s Week 10 game against Florida.

Zeb Noland, the former grad assistant who has stepped throughout the year, had a procedure to clean up his meniscus after the Gamecocks’ last game in Week 8.

“I’m not going to name a starter before Saturday,” Beamer said on Wednesday’s SEC media teleconference. “I don’t know if that gives us any benefit at all. Zeb looked good at practice, continues to compete. … We have confidence in all of our quarterbacks.”

Jason Brown, a redshirt senior transfer from FCS school St. Francis, is behind Noland on the depth chart.

The South Carolina-Florida game is set for 7:30 p.m. ET Saturday, airing on the SEC Network.
