Do not try to tell South Carolina that spring games aren’t important. With the Gamecocks hitting the field Saturday evening, the fans are out in bunches for a chance to get an early look at the team.
Prior to the game, South Carolina embarked on the walk to the stadium with a pack of fans lining the way. Head coach Shane Beamer took notice and was sure to shout out the fans on Twitter.
“Most programs don’t have this many people for a walk into the stadium for a regular season GAME,” wrote Beamer in his caption on Twitter.
WOW #GamecockNation!!

Beamer is entering his second season leading the Gamecocks since taking over following Will Muschamp. South Carolina went 7-6 with wins over Florida and Auburn and a Duke’s Mayo Bowl win.
Among the things fans are likely eager to see on Saturday night is a glimpse at newcomer Spencer Rattler. Rattler joined the Gamecocks via a transfer from Oklahoma after a wild 2021 season with the Sooners.
These pictures don’t do the crowd we just had justice. Wow! pic.twitter.com/ZHBlPiD9yq
