LSU has many famous former athletes. However, none of them are quite like Shaquille O’Neal, who was at the stadium on Saturday for the game against Florida. He talked to the SEC Network during the game, and shared what it is like to be back at LSU.

“I always come back once a year since I left in ’92,” O’Neal said. “It is a great atmosphere, we are a really great football team and I hope our guys can pull it off.”
Shaq didn’t just go to the game on Saturday night, as he was the DJ on Friday night at the bar Freds. Shaq, who said his DJ name is Diesel, said it all freestyle while he is DJ’ing.
“I just try and play what the kids like,” O’Neal said. “I played Callin’ Baton Rouge song, the LSU song and talked about some Florida stuff.”
Shaq played at LSU from 1989-1992, where he is arguably the greatest LSU player of all-time. During his time as a Tiger, he was named the SEC Player of the Year twice (1991 and 1992), while also being first-team All-American in both of those years.
Shaq is currently first in blocks (412), second in rebounds (1,217) and fifth all-time in points (1,941).
