It’s no secret that the LSU Tigers are going to need better play from their quarterbacks if they are going to challenge for a spot in the College Football Playoff.
According to Gridiron now, Shaq thinks one of the problems was that former starter Brandon Harris wasn’t playing with enough effort:
“When you come (to LSU) you have to bring it. So if the coaches having conversations about moving you, you’re not bringing it. So you have to be able to look in the mirror and say, ‘Am I bringing it? Am I doing what the great Tommy Hodson did? Am I doing what Harvey Williams and Todd Kinchen did?’ We have a 100,000-seat stadium built off of what guys did. … My advice to them is to be real with themselves.”
Shaq, who attended LSU from 1989-1992, knows a thing or two about effort. The four-time NBA champion was college basketball’s player of the year in 1991 and a large bronze statue of him stands outside the basketball practice facility.
