Shazz Preston said his college decision came down to LSU and Alabama, but in the end, the 4-star wide receiver out of Saint James, Louisiana (St. James) chose the Crimson Tide in an announcement aired live on ESPN2.
Preston is the No. 3 wide receiver in this class, and the No. 4 player in the state of Louisiana, according to the 247Sports Composite. He is listed as 6 foot and 190 pounds. He spoke about how the LSU coaching change impacted his decision.
“It changed a lot because a lot of things weren’t really staying, so Alabama was the next best thing,” Preston said on ESPN2.
Earlier in the week, Preston told WVUE-8 how the process has played out.
“They battling it out,” he said. “On the field and off the field. It’s exciting. I appreciate those programs taking the time out. Even all those other programs taking the time out. Just giving me positive impact during this process. Because this isn’t easy, not everybody can do it. It’s a blessing to be in the position I am. It’s interesting, it’s fun. I enjoyed it, sometimes things need to come to an end.”
