Shedeur Sanders was fortunate to not be ejected from Colorado’s Week 13 contest against Kansas on Saturday afternoon.

As officials attempted to breakup an argument between Colorado and Kansas players, Sanders appeared to shove an official in the back while trying to get to a Kansas player.

Here’s a replay of the incident, featuring commentary from FOX rules analyst Mike Pereira:

“Look, I get why he’s upset because people are almost climbing over him after he was down,” Pereira said. “But you know, the officials can use their hands all they want to try to keep order. But you can not come back as a player and push an official.

“In the chaos, the officials don’t see it. But he’s lucky that he wasn’t ejected from the game.”

Sanders and Colorado are in a must-win situation against the Jayhawks on Saturday as they pursue a spot in the Big 12 Championship Game. A loss would drop the Buffs to 2 conference losses on the season and would them in a difficult situation from a tiebreaker perspective going into the final week of the regular season.

As for Sanders, he’s been excellent so far against Kansas. He completed 16 of his first 18 passes on the day for 207 yards and 3 touchdowns.
