Shelley Meyer recalls loudest Florida game she attended during Urban Meyer’s tenure

Urban Meyer spent a memorable six seasons at Florida (2005-10), leading the Gators to a pair of SEC titles and BCS national championships.
In 2006, Meyer’s second season at UF, the Gators returned to the conference championship game in Atlanta for the first time since the Steve Spurrier era. Spurrier was coach at South Carolina that season and his Gamecocks came oh-so-close to spoiling Florida’s SEC Championship hopes for the second year in a row. South Carolina trailed 17-16, but drove into Florida territory and had the chance to make a game-winning 48-yard field goal with 8 seconds left on the clock. Gator defensive lineman Jarvis Moss blocked the kick and the rest is history.
Meyer’s wife Shelley recently remembered the play as her loudest time in The Swamp, responding to a tweet from former Florida defensive back Ahmad Black asking his Twitter followers the loudest Gator game they’ve attended.
“South Carolina when we blocked that kick to win. I can’t remember what year (I know Urbs knows EXACTLY the time, date, down, distance, moment) 😂. You probably know all that too. 🙌” Shelley tweeted.
Not many Gator fans are going to argue with Shelley about that being the loudest moment in The Swamp from the Meyer era.
