Florida defensive back Marco Wilson is off the board, and fans haven’t forgotten his most memorable moment with the Gators.
The Arizona Cardinals picked Wilson at No. 136 overall on Saturday afternoon, and jokes about his infamous flying shoe moment followed shortly thereafter.
For those who need a refresher: Florida and LSU were tied with under two minutes remaining in a game late last season. The Gators got a third down stop, theoretically forcing an LSU punt. However, Wilson grabbed the shoe of an LSU player and promptly launched it into the fog at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
He was hit with a 15-yard penalty, and LSU kept the ball. The Tigers ended up making a 51-yard field goal to win the game with under 30 seconds remaining, and Florida lost all hope of making the College Football Playoff.
Here’s some of the best jokes that came across on Twitter after the Cardinals made the pick:

Despite the mishap, Wilson impressed scouts throughout the pre-draft process. He finished his Florida career with three interceptions, 17 pass deflections and 99 total tackles.
