The Tennessee defensive line is set to get back arguably its most stout run defender for the Battle at Bristol as sophomore defensive tackle Shy Tuttle will make his season debut against Virginia Tech.

According to Ryan Bartow of 247Sports, Tuttle will be a full go for the Volunteers but is unlikely to start the game at defensive tackle. Tuttle has not played since Oct. 10 of last season after taking a questionable hit from Georgia offensive lineman Brandon Kublanow. The hit caused Tuttle to break his fibula.

The sophomore had practiced for nearly all of fall camp with few limitations but did not suit up for the season opener against Appalachian State.

Tuttle really came on for the Vols during his true freshman season and was arguably the team’s best stuffer last season before suffering a broken leg against Georgia. Tuttle was a four-star recruit in the 2015 recruiting class and one of North Carolina’s top overall rated prospects that season.
