Mississippi State received some great recruiting news this week when it appeared that in-state defensive tackle Raekwon Davis flipped from Alabama. That report has since been confirmed and disputed, but either way it was the beginning of what should be an exciting stretch run for the Bulldogs as they look to land several top in-state prospects.
Here’s a review of Mississippi State’s signing class with less than three weeks remaining before signing day and a few predictions on where the Bulldogs could end up in February. We use 247Sports composite team and player rankings:

SIGNING DAY PREDICTION
(Please note the commit list doesn’t include defensive end Drelan Porter or defensive tackle Emmit Gooden, both of whom are early enrollees in junior college as of January.)
While Ole Miss might get a lot of the talk when national signing day rolls around, Mississippi State has an opportunity to close strong and finish with a top 20 class. The Bulldogs are in good standing with most of their remaining targets, especially the top in-state prospects like Simmons, Brown and Jones. It’s going to be tense down the stretch, but if things go right there will a lot of happy fans in Starkville on Feb. 3.
