It’s official. Alabama and Clemson are meeting for the fourth-straight year in the College Football Playoff.
For the third time, it will be the Crimson Tide and Tigers facing off in the CFP championship game. No. 2 Clemson thumped No. 3 Notre Dame 30-3 in the Cotton Bowl ahead of No. 1 Alabama’s 45-34 win over No. 4 Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl.
As you can expect, some of the more prominent college football fans and media members are making some jokes about the game that is becoming an annual affair. Some are excited for another classic game and college football history.
14-0 Clemson vs. 14-0 Alabama
For the first time since 1897 Penn, somebody is going to go 15-0.

How’s this work? We’re reminded that Alabama and Clemson have been the best two teams all year, so now everyone that was left out of the #CFBPlayoff thinks it has been proven they deserved a shot? I’ll just get ready to enjoy Chapter 4. #RollTide #ALLIN

Hi guys, I’m making a Groundhog Day remake called, “College Football Playoff National Championship: Alabama v. Clemson.” pic.twitter.com/VkfUU74f2J

I’m gettin real tired of seeing Alabama and Clemson in the national championship

We need to expand the playoff to eight teams so we can see Alabama and Clemson blow out two teams before meeting in the final.
— Tom Fornelli (@TomFornelli) December 30, 2018
I guess instead of expanding the Playoff, we might as well just schedule an annual home-and-home between Alabama and Clemson.

I kinda think if Alabama plays like this against Clemson they will lose. They’ve got a lot to clean up over the next week.

All season long: Alabama and Clemson are clearly the top two teams in the country
End of season: You're not going to believe this but it appears Alabama and Clemson are clearly the top two teams in the country

Alabama and Clemson dominance. Recruiting is good enough that freshman QBs are better than pretty much any other QBs in the nation. Coaching is good enough that they thrive in big games when called upon.

Clemson & Alabama fans will have to travel to San Francisco for the #CFBPlayoff Championship.
Might as well just play the darn game in Atlanta
