Chris Russo, otherwise known as First Take’s ‘Mad Dog,’ had quite the take following the news of Nick Saban’s contract extension through the 2030 season.
Mad Dog said Nick Saban was not the greatest college football coach of all time, much to the dismay of Stephen A. Smith.

Mad Dog’s argument stemmed around Alabama already being a power when Saban took over in 2007, which is another hot take on its own. He eventually named Notre Dame legend Ara Parseghian as his greatest coach of all time.
Twitter, as it does, reacted to Russo’s takes Wednesday afternoon.

IMO Top 3 Coaches are: Nick, Bear and Bobby Bowden. Dude brought up a coach who isn’t even top 10, maybe not even top 20, and he did so for reactions.

Saban won a championship at LSU and then revived Alabama from the dead into the greatest dynasty in all of college football history. Saban is the ? https://t.co/90f1gQd69v

“Anyone could win a game coaching Alabama.” Bruh how exactly do you think Alabama BECAME what they are? lol https://t.co/vsDi4rCWDe

Saying anyone could win at Alabama then bringing up a Notre Dame coach is certainly an interesting strategy. https://t.co/tjl098uHIr
