Social media roasts offenses in Auburn-Mississippi State game: ‘Absolutely brutal’

The early field goal battle didn’t go over well with fans.
The jokes of the 3-2 game from a decade ago didn’t age well by halftime when the teams were mired in a 13-3 game in Starkville, only after a last-second touchdown.
Auburn QB Jarrett Stidham began 6-for-10 passing for 38 yards, and the Tigers opened 0-for-6 on third down conversions. RB Boobie Whitlow had four carries for 30 yards. Auburn had just four first downs
Mississippi State QB Nick Fitzgerald, meanwhile, salvaged an otherwise pedestrian first half with a fourth down plunge at the goal line to close the half. But that didn’t erase a 5-for-11 passing effort for 43 yards and an interception. MSU had 10 first downs, but was 3-for-9 on third down attempts. One positive for the Bulldogs was a 149-yard rushing effort on 29 carries.
As several people noted on social media, the defenses are good, but probably not as tough as they appear in this game.

There is a chance Washington losing to Auburn will be considered a bad loss by the time this is all said and done

Mississippi State banks in a field goal off the upright to take a 6-3 lead with 10:13 left in the 2Q. Auburn currently has 59 yards of total offense, so every point counts tonight.

I told people at the beginning of the season I had questions about Auburn’s offense from top to bottom. People thought I was crazy.. well look where we are people

Stidham overshoots Darius Slayton on the trick play for a wide open TD.
It's that kind of year for Auburn's offense.

Auburn obviously has some issues on offense but State's defense has been ridiculously physical and fast in the first few possessions.

Jaquarius Landrews was playing in the box like a typical stack linebacker. This Auburn offense forces you to do weird things.

This Auburn offense is absolutely brutal to watch. No rhythm, no confidence in line, no reason in play calling.

Auburn's defense is good, obviously, but not as good as the MSU offense has made it appear.
