Jackson Arnold? More like Sackson Arnold, am I right?
Terrible attempt at a joke aside, the former Oklahoma and current Auburn Tigers quarterback did not have the best return trip to Norman on Saturday. Arnold was sacked a grand total of 10 times in a losing effort, including 3 sacks to end the game on what had potential to be a game-winning drive. Oklahoma’s 10 sacks on the afternoon is a program record.
Arnold’s pocket presence definitely left a lot to be desired, but it stings even more for his final sack of the afternoon to be a safety – which handed Oklahoma a 24-17 final score. Bettors of Auburn +6.5 aren’t too happy about that one, either.
The online reaction to Arnold’s struggles is about how you’d expect. National media, Sooners fans and general fans of the game all came together to unleash on Arnold’s struggles in Norman.
