Somto Cyril, 4-star big man for 2024, reveals SEC commitment

Somto Cyril is a 4-star big man and one of the top overall basketball players in the 2024 recruiting class. On Wednesday, he announced a commitment that will bring him to the SEC.
Cyril generated high major interest from a number of programs that included Florida, Ole Miss, Kentucky and Tennessee out of the SEC. He took an official visit to Kentucky early in June and confirmed his commitment to the Wildcats Wednesday evening.
Cyril is a native of Nigeria and is the 44th player in the country per the 247 Sports Composite.

Cyril is listed at 6-foot-10 and 240 pounds and has been playing for Overtime Elite in Atlanta, Georgia. The composite also rates Cyril as the No. 7 center and the 3rd overall player out of Georgia for the 2024 recruiting class.
We’ll see how the rest of the recruiting class shapes up for Kentucky, but Cyril should be a nice addition for John Calipari’s program.
