Florida is set to have another Matthews on the roster at quarterback.

Luke Matthews, son of Gators great Shane Matthews, tweeted Saturday that he will be going to UF. Per OnlyGators, Matthews will be a preferred walk-on.

On the GHS roster, Matthews is listed at 5-10, 165 pounds. His 247Sports recruiting profile lists him as a pro-style quarterback prospect.

Shane Matthews showed the rest of the SEC what Steve Spurrier’s Fun ‘N’ Gun was all about. Matthews finished his UF career (1989-92) with 9,287 passing yards, third all-time for the Gators behind only Chris Leak and Danny Wuerffel. Matthews is also No. 5 at UF all-time in career passing touchdowns with 74.

Judging by the images included in Luke’s commitment announcement, he’s looking to wear his father’s No. 9.
