When he’s not running the ball for Georgia, Sony Michel has developed quite a following for producing rap songs and videos. Two years ago, he released a version of “UGA Anthem,” and a year ago on Soundcloud, he came out with “No Feelins.” Michel, who also goes by the name “Flyguy2Stackz,” produced his latest effort with rapper Rich Homie Quan.
The latest song opens with a voice over from second-year head coach Kirby Smart who said he wanted to have 105 guys committed to the process of having a successful season. The hype video then shows highlights of Michel, Nick Chubb, Jacob Eason and Mecole Hardman Jr. and other Georgia players on the field over a chorus of, “that red and black finna win the game.”
Michel played in 12 games for Georgia last season. He rushed for 840 yards and four touchdowns and caught a touchdown with 149 yards receiving.
A former newspaper veteran, Keith Farner is a news manager for Saturday Down South.
