When the SEC announced that LSU vs. Florida would not be played Saturday as originally scheduled, fans and media began to speculate as to when the game might be played.

One date that was mentioned at both press conferences was Nov. 19. While the Tigers and Gators do not share an open date, they both play nonconference opponents in Week 12. Florida hosts Presbyterian while LSU is set to welcome South Alabama to Baton Rouge.

Mark Long of the Associated Press tweeted Thursday that Florida was targeting Nov. 19 for a makeup date, but that LSU was opposed to the idea.

LSU athletic director Joe Alleva disputed reports of any discussions around Nov. 19 in his Thursday press conference:

AL.com reached out to South Alabama AD Joel Erdmann for comment Thursday night:

“No, nobody has reached out to me,” Erdmann said.

“I think it’s inappropriate to comment at this time. That would be making an assumption about something that might not even happen.”

The SEC said in its postponement announcement that the LSU-Florida game will be rescheduled if possible.
