Mississippi State goes into Notre Dame territory for latest commitment

John Michael Hankerson lives in the home town of the Fighting Irish.
But the South Bend, Ind. native is going to play his college ball in the SEC.
Hankerson, who is listed as a three-star athlete by 247Sports, committed to play for Dan Mullen at Mississippi State on Sunday, according to 247Sports’ Paul Jones.

Hankerson attended Mississippi State’s camp back in July and was on an official visit to Starkville this weekend.
He had offers from Indiana and Bowling Green, among others.
