Back in 2017, the South Carolina Gamecocks landed a commitment from 3-star S Zay Brown out of Athens, Georgia.

However, over the past two years, he hasn’t appeared in a game for the South Carolina defense, and now it appears the redshirt sophomore is going to be on the move.

Per the 247Sports transfer portal page, Brown has entered his name in the NCAA transfer portal and is exploring other options.

Brown moved from safety to linebacker last season, but still didn’t get on the field, so it’s possible this move is based on a desire for more playing time.

He could still decide to return to South Carolina, but for now, other schools are free to contact him.
