South Carolina defensive back reportedly enters NCAA transfer portal

The South Carolina secondary is potentially losing some depth, as one of the players will enter the NCAA transfer portal.
According to Cole Cubelic of the SEC Network, redshirt freshman Jonathan Gipson will explore his transfer possibilities ahead of the 2019 season.
Per The State, South Carolina officials confirmed the news on Monday evening:
South Carolina DB Jonathan Gipson has entered the NCAA transfer portal.

Gipson was a 3-star recruit in the 2018 class, and redshirted during the 2018 season for the Gamecocks. Per the 247Sports composite, Gipson was the No. 37 cornerback in the 2018 class and the No. 42 overall recruit from the state of Georgia.
Gipson may decide to stay at South Carolina, but for now, he’s free to be contacted by other schools.
