Jabari Ellis is returning to South Carolina for another season with the Gamecocks.
Ellis made that announcement on Twitter Thursday evening.

“As a South Carolinian there’s pride in wearing Garnet and Black,” Ellis wrote. “These past three years have been some of the best years of my life.
“Therefore, it’s only fitting that I finish my collegiate career on home soil to fight to bring Carolina back to being a dominant force.”
This is a nice boost for the Gamecocks, who are looking to rebuild their program under first year head coach Shane Beamer.
Ellis just wrapped up his senior season at South Carolina, but everyone gets another year of eligibility due to the pandemic. The defensive tackle recorded 27 total tackles, three tackles for loss and half a sack.
Ellis originally transferred to South Carolina from Georgia Military College. This was his third season with the Gamecocks after contributing lightly in 2018 and 2019.
South Carolina will certainly appreciate having his leadership around next season as it transitions from former coach Will Muschamp to Beamer.
