A South Carolina graduate assistant is moving up the coaching ranks, joining an FCS staff to work with a family member.

Ben Breiner of The State observed that Taylor Lamb has changed his Twitter bio to indicate he is now the quarterback coach at Gardner-Webb. Lamb’s cousin Tre Lamb is the head coach at Gardner-Webb as of Dec. 14.

The past two seasons, Lamb coached alongside Gamecocks quarterbacks coach Dan Werner as a graduate assistant, working with Jake Bentley, Ryan Hilinski and other Gamecocks quarterbacks. Werner was let go by Will Muschamp after the completion of South Carolina’s 2019 season.

Taylor Lamb was a former record-setting quarterback at Appalachian State during his playing days with the Mountaineers (9,763 passing yards, 90 touchdowns).
