South Carolina LB Jalen Dread will not be back for a third season with the Gamecocks.

Dread posted a thank you note to South Carolina coach Will Muschamp on Twitter which he revealed he would finishing his career at another school.

Dread, from Foley, Ala., was rated the No. 42 inside linebacker and No. 35 Alabama according to the 247Sports Composite. He played on special teams a freshman in 2015, but did not see any action this past season.

Transfers are common after a change in coaching staffs. The Gamecocks have now experienced five transfers following Muschamp’s first season in Columbia.
