South Carolina to medically redshirt sophomore lineman barring emergency this weekend

After playing eight snaps against Vanderbilt in the season opener, South Carolina redshirt sophomore OL Donell Stanley suffered a high ankle sprain and has missed every game since.

Now, the Gamecocks may try to get another year of eligibility for Stanley by pursuing a medical redshirt:

Stanley redshirted as a true freshman in 2014 and played primarily on special teams last year. He’ll be a redshirt junior in 2017 with potentially three years of eligibility remaining.
