Concerning news for a future South Carolina Gamecock coming out of Friday night high school action.
Ryan Hilinski, a 4-star pro-style quarterback out of Orange Lutheran (Orange, Calif.), had to leave his Friday night game early after taking a shot to the head in the second quarter of a playoff game against Centennial.
“He’s a big piece of our offense, he’s our gunslinger, he’s our captain, he’s our leader and you feel the lull when guys like him are out,” Orange Lutheran head coach J.P. Presley told The Press-Enterprise. “Ryan’s had a great run, a great high school career.”
South Carolina fans may remember that earlier this month Hilinski reaffirmed his pledge to the Gamecocks after a strong push from Stanford.
Any injury involving the head is naturally taken seriously. Hopefully in this case the future Gamecock is all right in the long term.
