At some point during the time off from the end of South Carolina’s regular season to today’s Birmingham Bowl, it appears that freshman quarterback Jake Bentley decided he wanted to switch things up.
Reporters in Birmingham noticed that Bentley was listed as No. 19 on Thursday’s dress list for the game, and the new number was confirmed by the team’s sports information director.

Bentley played well in No. 4, going 93-of-147 passing for 1,030 yards in six games with 6 touchdowns to only 2 interceptions. We’ll see how the true freshman plays in his new number against USF, with the Birmingham Bowl kickoff coming up at 2 p.m. ET.
