South Carolina releases stirring game intro video ahead of Week 1 opener against Eastern Illinois

Fans gathered at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia on Saturday afternoon for South Carolina’s season opener against Eastern Illinois will get a special treat before the game.

On Monday evening, the South Carolina football program unveiled the 2021 game intro video, filled with highlights from Gamecocks seasons of the past that those that have followed the team for any stretch of time will readily recognize. Sure, there haven’t been many proud moments of late, but with Shane Beamer at the reins for his first season as head coach, the hope is that there’s plenty more to add to that list after several down years.

And, in a nod to the Gamecock mascot, the Alice In Chains song “Rooster” is playing in the background. The video itself is just over a minute long, but it’s sure to get the blood of any South Carolina fan pumping ahead of the upcoming season.
