South Carolina reports 23 NCAA, SEC violations over the past year

South Carolina’s athletic department has turned itself in, reporting 23 NCAA violations over the last year – nine of which are football related. 22 of the violations have been labeled as Level III infractions, which rate as the least severe violations.

Six of the nine football related violations have occurred under the watch of current head coach Will Muschamp, according to an AP report.

Specific names of coaches and players involved in the violations have yet to be released.

SEC rules were also violated and reported thanks to an assistant coach in the press box used a headset to communicate with coaches on the field during a game. The assistant coach has been suspended one game and the SEC determined it would not take any further disciplinary action.

Other NCAA violations include a player receiving impermissible transportation and another involving a prospect receiving impermissible lodging.
