The South Carolina Gamecocks are gearing up for a road showdown with new SEC rival Oklahoma in Week 8.
The Gamecocks enter the contest with a 3-3 overall record and a 1-3 mark in SEC play. The Sooners, meanwhile, enter at 4-2 overall and 1-2 in conference play. Ahead of this matchup, the Gamecocks revealed what uniform combo they’ll be sporting in Norman.
The team will wear white jerseys, white pants, and black helmets. For road contests, the team has typically worn white jerseys, while wearing garnet or black when at home.
“Battle ready,” was the caption for the video reveal.

In the team’s first road game of the season, against Kentucky, the Gamecocks wore the white jerseys and white pants but with garnet helmets. Last weekend, at Alabama, the team wore the all-white uniform combo. Week 8 at Oklahoma is just the team’s 3rd road game, so this is the first time we’ve seen the black-white-white combo this season.
Interestingly, this Week 8 matchup will be the first in history between South Carolina and Oklahoma. This will be the first of many as the Sooners get accustomed to the SEC.
Neither of these teams have lived up to their expectations in 2024. The Sooners have losses to Tennessee and Texas, while the Gamecocks have losses to LSU, Ole Miss, and Alabama.
The Gamecocks’ lone SEC win came in a Week 2 trouncing of Kentucky. Playing close has not been an issue, but finishing games has as the Gamecocks have close losses to Alabama and LSU.
This Week 8 SEC matchup will kick off from Memorial Stadium at 12:45 p.m. ET.
