During a game against Texas A&M back in October, South Carolina WR Terry Googer was severely injured and had to be carted off the field.

He didn’t return to the field at all during the 2017 season, and now he’s being forced to retire from the game he loves.

As you can see in the tweet below, Googer announced on Sunday that he was hanging up his cleats, thanking South Carolina fans for the support the past four years:

Googer recorded 12 catches for 140 yards in his South Carolina career before it was cut short by the injury he suffered last season.

Hopefully, he’ll be able to make a full recovery and live a good life outside of football.
