Florida coach Jim McElwain can breathe a sign of relief.
It appears as though he will not be in the market for a new offensive coordinator this season.
Gators OC Doug Nussmeier was considered one of the leading candidates for the Southern Mississippi head coaching job, but according to Fox Sports’ Bruce Feldman, he’ll be staying put in Gainesville.

Continuity will be a big positive for the Gators as McElwain enters his second season on campus after winning the SEC East during his debut.
Nussmeier’s decision-making during the search for a new starting quarterback will be a key to the Gators future, both in the near and long term.
