It’s a good week to bet on SEC underdogs — at least that’s what S&P+ would have you believe.
The analytics system devised by SB Nation’s Bill Connelly projects every SEC underdog to cover the spread in Week 9, with one team winning outright. S&P+, which gauges a team’s opponent-adjusted efficiency and explosiveness, is intended to be forward-looking and has a solid track record against Vegas.
The newest set of S&P+ projections came out Thursday, but we’ve isolated just the SEC games below. Georgia-Florida is obviously the conference’s headliner, but Connelly’s numbers have an interesting take on Kentucky and Texas A&M, the other ranked teams in action Saturday.
Here’s how S&P+ sees the SEC’s Week 9 schedule playing out:
- No. 7 Georgia 32, No. 9 Florida 25
- Missouri 29, No. 12 Kentucky 25
- Mississippi State 26, No. 16 Texas A&M 24
- South Carolina 34, Tennessee 27
- Arkansas 30, Vanderbilt 25
