The latest S&P+ Ratings were released on Sunday, and a host of SEC teams were present near the top — including two at the very top.

Most notably, LSU was rated as the No. 2 team in the nation behind Alabama.

“The S&P+ Ratings are a college football ratings system derived from the play-by-play and drive data of all 800+ of a season’s FBS college football games,” the Football Outsiders website states. You can also see the full list of ratings via the link provided.

Auburn came in at No. 10 on the list. Florida, a bit surprisingly, was at No. 16 ahead of Georgia. The Bulldogs rated as the No. 20 team in the country.

Also included in the Top 25 from the SEC were Ole Miss at No. 22, Mississippi State at No. 23, Texas A&M at No. 24 and Tennessee rounding out the list at No. 25.

It’s worth noting that these ratings should shift significantly in the coming weeks as more data is processed.
