The LSU baseball team is off to a rough start in SEC play, with a record of 1-8 against league competition currently. The Tigers are 17-11 overall, but not ranked in the top 25 of the Baseball America rankings.

Now, there’s more bad news, as a top pitcher for the Tigers will miss the rest of the season.

That pitcher would be Jaden Hill, who has a torn UCL in his pitching elbow. Per Baseball America, Hill is the No. 8 2021 MLB Draft prospect:

Will this impact Hill’s draft plans? After missing most of last season due to the COVID-19 pandemic and now the rest of this season with an elbow injury, he hasn’t pitched much for the Tigers the past 2 years.

We’ll see what he decides to do after the season. If he’s still projected as a Round 1 pick, he could end up turning pro.
